Help with PCV grommets etc.

I have a 1968 Cutlass S with a 350 engine.
I switched it from a 2bbl to a 4 bbl intake and carb. I believe the new intake and carb are both 1972.
I have new grommets for the valve covers and the PCV valve which is suppose to be the correct ones for 1968 but the pcv valve does not fit all the way down into the grommet for the pcv valve in the valve cover. The other side (drivers side valve cover grommet) the hole is to large in diameter for the breather tube that goes to the breather element filter inside the air filter housing.
Has anyone ran across this?
I also wanted to know if anyone knew what is the correct decal for my air cleaner? Should it just be the decal sticker the goes completely around the lid saying 350 Rocket or should it be the metal plate with the little hold down chrome cover on top where the wing nut sits?
also should my air cleaner be red or black?
Any help is greatly appreciated as I cannot find this information anywhere.
Thanks a lot .....Todd
