Thanks Eric, I just joined this forum last week, the car has been sitting for 8 years, finally I have some time to put back on road, I place my tire next to the 225 and seemed much smaller, I am hoping someone here has a 69 442 and can tell me what size they are using, as soon I get this car running and cleaned I will be participating more on this site, again many thanks.

For 1969, the factory tire size was F70-14, not G70-14. The rough equivalent to that is 215R70-14. On my '68 with drum brakes, I found that the 215s worked great with steel wheels. But with SSI wheels (deeper backspacing), the inside of the tires rubbed on the forward part of the frame on either side of the car when the wheel was turned hard right or hard left. My '69 is currently under restoration but it has the LY-coded SSI wheels for disc brakes and I anticipate that the 215s will work beautifully with the LY SSIs.

Then they are not the sizes you posted. Check the sidewalls again, or better yet, try a tape measure. As noted, the published O.D. for a Firestone G70-14 wide oval is 26.8". The diameter of a 225/70-14 is 26.4". A 225/60-14 is 24.6", however.
More to the point, the 225/70-14 is the tallest 70-series tire you can get in a 14" size. I don't know if anyone sells a 225/75-14 anymore, but that would be about 27.3" tall. The widest 14" you can buy is the 245/60-14, which is only about 25.5" in diameter.
