Height of Power Bucket Vs Manual Bucket 72

I am pondering seat height. I am 6'4" and mostly backbone, so I rarely have legroom issues and can even fit into budget airline seats (sometimes I must object to the one in front of me reclining.)

Headroom is more of an issue. Using whisky measurements, I have 3 fingers space above my head in my 72 Monte Carlo with original power bench, down and out. I have 2 fingers above my head
in my 72 H/O with manual bucket, all the way out. I believe it to be original upholstery. Although more headroom would be nice, I believe a power seat involves welding in different brackets.

I have read this thread: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...needed-141221/
and it appears so.

My questions:
1. If someone knows how much lower a bottomed out, all the way back power bucket is than an all the way back manual bucket on a 70-72 Olds A body, please inform me if I would gain anything.
2. Please confirm that it is indeed at least one new bracket and welding, in addition to sourcing the power bucket setup.

Thanks. I do not think this is worth it for head room as it works for me now, but I'd like to know.

I can't help with seat brackets, but you could always crib some rooftop style from the Italians.

That's funny. I like Jeremy Clarkson's review of the GT40. He can't sit in one. The new one he can. I fit in this H/O ok. If I find a pristine power bucket setup, I'll think about grabbing it for eventualities.
