Fuel Pump Rebuild

I am in the process of eventually starting my 1965 cutlass that has been sitting for a very long time. One thing I was wondering about is the fuel pump (mechanical of course). Should I attempt to rebuild the fuel pump? Do I need to? Can they be rebuilt (by a DIY'er)? If so, where is a good place to get a rebuild kit?

Any suggestions are appreciated

1965 started the use of the crimped together fuel pumps.
They are not re-buildable. At least not DIY.
1964 on back used a pump that fastened together with screws. Those are re-buildable DIY.

Rock Auto has new pumps for about $20;
