I have 2 extra bolts in my '68 Cutlass rear bumper. I have looked at a lot of pictures online and have yet to see another '68 bumper with these bolts. Anybody want to venture a guess on what they may have been for?

 

I'm thinking aftermarket bumper guards that were later removed and the holes plugged with these bolts. The JC Whitney catalog had pages of stuff like this.

 

I loved that place growing up. It was on the South side of Chicago and was called Washawsky's (I think that was who started it). Big scrap yard and the catalog store. Not sure when the Whitney's name came into play.
