Question on Bumper bolts?

Getting rear bumper ready to install on a 69 442. Are the four rear bumper bolts chrome or stainless steel. Thanks

Neither. They are actually plain steel with a thin stainless steel cap on the outer part.

Please let me knwo when you find a source for them. I needed a couple for my friends 54 Super 88 and haven't found them. Fusick does not have them anymore. I remember when you could find them everywhere. I guess there is not enough demand.

You can get stainless capped ones at www.inlinetube.com . On p. 7 of their 442 catalog.

There's also a bunch of originals on eBay....

Just a thought - when I got my bumpers rechromed, they looked much nicer than the bumper bolts. If you give the bumper bolt heads a decent buffing, they will look great with a nicely chromed bumper. Otherwise, their dullness against the shiny chrome will stand out like no one's business!
