Drip Rail Weatherstrip

On a '68 Cutlass Holiday Coupe , the stainless strip that holds the weatherstrip under the drip rail that the top of the door and quarter glass seal against ,
What sealant did the factory use between the body and the stainless ? Looks like an adhesive filled foam strip . And what is the best way to seal it when reinstalling it , or where do I get what the factory used ? I know that may not be the same answer .
I am painting this area today and want to reinstall it soon .

If I understand what you are asking it is called channel weatherstrip. It is thin foam with adhesive backing. I got mine (67) from Inline Tube and I think pn is INL11128.
