Door Lock Repair

Just got my 72 442 W30 survivor. My keys work in the concole , trunk and Glove Box. Not working for doors.

I s there a way to get new cylinders that will work with keys for trunk and Glove Box?

I would check with Joe P. He's got the lock thing down.

In 1972, the doors used the ignition key.

You Guys are a G-d send. I really have to meet you Guys some day. People think being a Car Guy is only involves Cars, but to me it is all the great people like yourselves who i get to meet and create new and lasting friendships.

Thanks Bruce B.

There should be a letter stamped on your ignition and trunk keys, either 'A' and ''B' and so on depending on the year. Once you know what letter 'key way' you have, you should be able to source a door cylinder, ignition cylinder etc. from NAPA. I found an old school locksmith who rebuilt the new tumbler to match my existing locks and keys, and saved me a lot of expense in the process.

I would surely read those letters first on the ignition and then ask north london locksmith about the cost. After comparing i would decide whether to do repair or replacement.
