Distributor order of spark plug wires

My dumb
question of the day....(Distributor order of spark plug wires) Spark plug wires order attachment goes by firing order correct? after number 1 spark plug wire it,s not 2, but rather is based on the firing order of the engine correct. I pulled the distributer and slipped it in 1 camshaft notch back so I would have more room to advance after reattaching wires it misfires
Thanks in Advance

Run # 1 to TDC on the compression stroke,
check where you roter bug will be firing.
That will be #1. Then counterclockwise,
8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Should be good to go.

Yes, it's 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, going counterclockwise.
