Disc Brake Conversions for 65+ B Body Olds????
Are there different avenues to take in regards to disc brake conversions for my car? It is difficult to stop my boat when sails are full mast.
So I was thinking..I can try to piece together a kit on ebay, but is there an actual kit for B BODY cars like mine? It's such a boat and the brakes are really outdated, even though all shoes are new.
Disc brakes would bring this doggy dog up to date
Suggestions?

Ask this question in the Chassis, Drivetrain, brake section. You will get some answers. In the meantime you may want to check into the front disk brake set up on the 80's B-body RWD cars Olds Custom Cruiser wagon, Buick Estate wagon, Caprice wagon, See what's interchangable. Also call http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/ They can make the boat of yours stop safely with drum brakes!!! The shoes they make I heard are excellent over stock. Just some ideas.

Had a '67 Impala SS - loaded with a BB, and had the same problem!
Metallic shoes, and new drums all the way around, solved the problem.
Really had to watch the mirror when 'panic stopping' on the x-ways!
Actually had a State Trooper slide by me - he turned on the lights in his unmarked squad, and I 'pulled over" [from a buck-ten]!!
But had to 'ride them' for the first couple blocks.
Brake jobs required 4 drums + shoes, but it DID stop!
