Correct. Forged pistons will handle higher cylinder pressures and are more forgiving of occasional detonation.

.
provided what's coming out of the hose is what's advertised. 93 would be better.

you might check out 4032 hypereutectic pistons. I put 80,000 miles on a set in chevy sb 400 with a cr pushing 10:1. they looked excellent with very little scuffing

Where are you getting 93 octane? Gas stations around here dont carry anything higher than 91. I also need to build the engine so I can run the octane that they sell at the lake, which the higheast is 91.

Dont hyp. pistons go pretty quick with any detonation?

For anything under 500 HP it doesn't matter.

If the distributor is properly curved for the application, detonation will not be a problem.

Very true,
This point can not be touted enough.

2 out of 3 engines do not need the parts they get sold.

If you are not making 500 hp, and going beyond 5500 rpm still making power, you just plain don't need them. If you have stock heads, you are not there.
