A Calendar Date On A 70 442 Brake Bracket?

On this October 69 Linden NJ built 442, I found this date stamped on the LH disc brake caliper bracket. I believe this is the first full calendar date stamped on a part number for anything except the frame stamping date - and the other side did not have it. Even more interesting, it appears like "10 6 69" at first glance, but if you look closely, it looks like it has been double struck or overstamped a couple of times. Anyone else ever seen a date like this on a A body?

Is that what causes the cracks on the OAI hoods?
