Cool brake booster

When the 455 is installed in my 66 442 the brake booster is about a 1/4" off the valve cover, is this correct or should have i gotten a mini booster like i put in my SS. I put a manual brake cylinder and although it looks good I was wondering if I just should go with the stock vacuum booster?

That should be fine. If all else fails you can get the notched valve covers.

Olds put factory clearance notches in the valve covers of big block A-body cars. This was done to simplify removal of the covers with the engine in place, but it is not mandatory.
