Benefits to changing flex plate
#4
thanks for the reply, i dont plan on racing, not on the strip at least but if a rice burner temps me i just might. For it being the original flex plate off a 72 it doesn't look to bad. Just wondering if there would be a great difference between stock or performance?

as far as going all out... my 350 is bored .30 over with edelbrock performer heads 77cc, performer intake, comp cam camshaft, magnum rocker kit and a few other things. pretty much all the internals are performance upgrades.

If you were going all out, you would have the assembly balanced with the flex plate of your choice.
If you didn't do that, no big deal. The factory flex plate sounds fine for what you are doing.

The difference would be exactly zero. As noted above, the only reasons to change would be if a racing organization required an SFI certified one or if the ring gear teeth were damaged. Otherwise, don't waste your money.
