!949 olds 98 Fuel Tank

Best place to find a good gas tank for a '49 Olds? How many gallons will it hold? Better to have one made?

Should I buy one for a later Olds and make it fit?
Thanks.

The site this link takes you to is not for fuel injected engines. They show a pump there that retrofits it to use for fuel injected engines. Go to the second view and it will show you the different locations for the filler neck. Measure yours and match up with the correct one. The tank are not exact reproduction but are pretty close. I used one on a 50 Olds 88 convertible. Fusick has tanks that are supposed to be exact reproductions but are a lot more expensive. I would suggest calling these folks and talking with them. They are nice folks.

The shop has removed the old gas tank and cut out the old trunk floor. There's a new trunk floor with a bracket underneath to hold the new gas tank.
The gas tank is for a fuel injected Mustang and it looks sweet. Better than the original. I'm not sure how the shop is going to route the filler tube, but I'll find out next week.
