72 Cutlass Power Door Lock issue

I was installing my power door lock solenoids in my 72 Cutlass Supreme and after bolting the unit to the door with the actuator rod attached to the latch mechanism the solenoid rod was fully extended and the latch was pulled down in the fully locked position. It would appear to me that the actuator rod may be slightly too short not allowing the solenoid rod to move upward. I have had these for years waiting to add them to this project and don't remember where I got them. The solenoids line up perfectly with the door dimples which I pre drilled before paint. I have attached photos of the rod and its length and the solenoid itself. Looking for someone to verify what I have here. I'm hoping the rod is the issue and somebody has the correct one for sale.

Or cut them apart and make them longer. It ain’t broke if it can be fixed with JB Weld or a welder!!
