I have read that the W30's came with less sound deadening material than the standard 442. Problem is I cannot find out what sound deadening material was left out of the W30's as opposed to the standard 442s. Anyone know the scope on this?

 

The W-30s (and 31s) did not have the underhood pad - kind of obviously, since it couldn't be used with the O.A.I. hood. This is a case of the marketing department making it sound like a much bigger deal than it really was.

Thanks for the info. They did make it seem like it was much more than just the hood insulation missing, which is so obvious.
