64/65 cutlass trunk lid

Are the trunk lids for a 1964 cutlass interchangable with a 1965 cutlass? Thanks Bassinguy

I know the 1964 doesn't have OLDSMOBILE letters across the trunk like the 1965. But that's all I can say for sure, they appear to be the same size/shape but someone else will have to say if they will interchange or not.

64/65 cutlass trunk lid

John I have been looking all night. According to 442BRO.com,in one of his articles ,he states that the doors and trunk lid are interchangeable. But like you said, the 65 lid has Oldsmobile written on the back where the 64 does not. Thanks for your time and knowledge Rick

As far as I know the actual structures are identical and interchangeable. As stated above, 64 has script on the deck, 65 has the text in the tail pan.

I think you have that backwards. The 65 has the script on the lid and the 64 has it on the tail panel.

Hollander says they are the same; part number 4507169. The 1965 has the OLDSMOBILE letters on it; The 1964 doesn't.

whoops! Boy is my face red - I'm only up to my neck in restoring a '64 and owned 4 '65s. I think I should ventilate my garage better when spraying Brakleen...
