3x2 choke pull off

trying to figure out what i need for my choke pull off. Pictures show a white pulloff and one on the intake," thermostat". Why do you need two? is that the way they came. I have the original choke pulloff that came on the carb and it is all metal, yellow zinc plating one piece, think it is bad can't make it work.would appreciate some advice before i order parts.thanks

You don't need two. The metal thing on the intake is the choke thermostat, NOT a "pulloff". The thermostat is a bimetallic coil that expands as it heats up, moving the rod that opens the choke and moves the fast idle cam. The vacuum-operated pulloff is to help with choke opening under specific load conditions.

The thermal coil SETS the choke... entirely shut.
Provided the unloader has not been activated by means of WOT by the driver.
Then gradually relaxes to "no choke" as the engine warms.

Immediately after starting, the engine needs just a bit less than "all the choke" and that is when the pulloff comes into play.... as the name implies, it Pulls Off the choke, the exact right amount, such that the first minute or two of operation goes flawlessly.

See if this video works

yeah, shows coil snapping choke 100% shut
then unloader as WOT is employed.

How about the first start after 5 months' inactivity:

The pulloff at the right front corner of the carb is pointed out.

Note how it pulls off the choke as soon as the engine starts.
