1971 Cutlass Tail light lens

I noticed that the tail light lens has a second rectangle lens on the inside that is a separate piece. What is this for and where can I get another one?

It is called a diffuser I believe & helps to spread the light out. I have several, get me your address & I'll send you one. Do you need it for the top lens or the bottom.
