1970 protecto-plate decode

To the experts out there... can anyone indicate or post how to decode the protecto-plate for a 1970 442?

Protectoplate

I've ordered the books, but too curious - anyone point me to a link that will explain the following codes located on the tag above the firewall (protectoplate?) (as best as I can tell - still needs scrubbing):

ST 72 24267LAN207520 8OY

TR 977 53A RNT

Posting a clear pic would be the best bet. It is not called the protecto plate though, data tag/data plate/body identification plate/body number plate. The protecto plate was metal or plastic depending on the year, and was kept in the glove box for the dealer when brought in for servicing.

Your probably right Allan. Although it wouldn't be at the top like he has it posted. And RNT is PNT for paint

Protecto plate decode

I just bought this car & just want to know if anyone can tell if it is a W30 or not by the protecto plate codes ....
I was told to have a W30 it needed to be built in M Plant = Lansing MI but just was not sure.....
Thank you

Best I can figure out is the car was Gold code 55 55 So no vinyl top Code 934 Gold Bucket seats.
Codes are as follows ST 70 = 1970 344 = 442 Model 87 = Hardtop G Framingham MA 46342 BDY = Fisher body # of build
TR 934 = ( Gold Buckets ) PNT 55 55 = ( Gold Buckets no Vinyl top )
Date code 01A = 1st week of January I think...

Not w/out the build sheet or original window sticker.

G Framingham MA 46342
That's correct, your car is not a W30

According to the VIN, your car is a 442 2 door Holiday Hardtop built in Framingham.

Can you post a pic of the cowl tag? It might have some other information we can help you with about your car.

TR 977 53A RNT <-- This should be "PNT" for "Paint code"
