This sticker is inside the speedometer bezel for my 69 442. I've never seen one before. Anybody know the possible origin? It refers back to the owners manual so could it be a factory decal? Thanks.
What do you mean "inside the speedometer bezel"? I've rebuilt the speedometer and dash in my own '69 442 and never seen anything like that. It certainly doesn't look like a GM decal. Even in the odd chance it was originally inside the speedometer, it would/should have some sort of part number or revision date printed on it somewhere.
Is this car from California? In the 1970s, CA mandated the retrofit of a "NOx device" on 1960s cars to reduce NOx emissions by disabling the vacuum advance. The cheapest versions were simply rubber caps for the vacuum line to the distributor and a decal like this. The factory Transmission Controlled Spark system in 1970 did the same thing.
