So I need to replace the fan blade on my engine, since the one that was on there is not correct. When I look in the Assembly Manual in Section 6-1 Page 130 it shows a 4 blade fan with a part number of 403627 for a 350 engine in "A." However, when I go to the Oldsmobile Parts Text document in category 1.064 (Fan, Radiator Fan), it lists the following:

68-69 F85 350 Eng. exc. C.A.C., Y72
or O.A.I - 406016
1 11.05 FAN 4 blades-18" dia.

So the question is, which is the correct fan blade for my car? And does anyone know who sells a replacement with the correct numbered blade? It looks like Fusick and Supercars Unlimited don't sell fan blades, and OPGI doesn't have 4 blade fans.

Most people go with the 6 blade clutch fan. I believe but am not positive that you could get the 6 blade clutch fan on a 1968. We'll need some help from the 1968 guru's to know which applications got what. If you decide to go with the 4 blade fan I've got a stack of those. If I've got the correct one you can have it for shipping costs. John

The same 6 blade fan clutch was used from 68 to 70. The fan blade is easily found, however, a proper fan clutch is a bit difficult to find. The after market replacement will work find for you.

Thanks guys for the input. I read on another post that the the fan clutch would have the six bladed fan attached to it, and has the PN 401372. Is that correct? John, by any chance do you have one of these 6 blade clutch fans available?

Also, I have the 398248 fan shroud, so rcorrigan5 said I shouldn't have a problem with the opening being big enough with the 6 blade fan. In addition, he says he may have a 4 blade fan, so if he does, I will get that one, since he is just down the road from me. If not, I'll contact you John about having you ship yours up to me, and I'll pay the shipping.
