Lightbulb 1962 Fuel Sender/Gauge Specifications?

Is anyone interested in helping me to reverse engineer the system specifications for a 1962 fuel sender/gauge system?

I have a 1962 Super 88 that needs the fuel sending unit / gauge debugged & restored. I'm looking for specifications for the 1962 fuel gauge system, so that I can find suitable replacement parts to restore the system.

Specifically, I'd like to know:

1. The range of resistances of the fuel tank sending unit (minimum & maximum resistance values corresponding to full and empty positions)

and

2. The range of currents that the fuel gauge responds to under FULL and EMPTY conditions.

I'm hoping that someone with a good sending unit could take measurements for me, and that someone with a working gauge could take a current reading with an ammeter to tell me the current going to the gauge under FULL and EMPTY conditions.

Knowing these things, it'd be possible to design a circuit to adapt commonly available parts to do the job of the unobtainable parts.

Anyone?

TIA.

Just went through this with a 68. I know at least 66-72 follow this spec.
Range of sender/gauge= 0-90 OHMS
0+-OHMS= empty
90+- OHMS= full
45+- OHMS= 1/2

You can send the sender out to be rebuilt. That is what i did. I tried to source and possibly modify existing things that were available to suit my sender but it did not work out, a PITA

These outfits also can repair the gauge portion also.

Unfortunately, early cars are different. The OP's 1962 uses a 0-30 ohm sender and matching gauge.

Thanks for the help, gents. Knowing that it's 0-30 ohms is very helpful.
