69 98 fuel sender foo barbed

Hi all, my sender unit in my car is reading badly. It read ok from full to just under full then it jumps around till there is just over empty, not good on road trips My car is a 4 door sedan and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a new one.

I have pulled it out and all looks good, both sender unit and gauge itself. I am thinking the sender has just worn out over time.

It is one that sits in and there is a screw top you turn to lock it in. Even one from a different model that is the same would be nice but I can't find anywhere that says they are interchangeable with my model too

I am in Australia so international shipping is a must, sometimes hard to find.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Since you had it out, did you put an ohmmeter on it and see whether it goes from Zero Ω Empty to 90Ω Full?

Sounds like the wiper on the rheostat is a bit loose. You should be able to take it apart and bend it a bit tighter and have it working fine.
