1955 Rocket 88 vacuum wiper motor question

So I bought a '55 olds 88. The engine had been pulled, and not everything was hooked back up. I'm trying to sort through the various issues one at a time.

The windshield wiper motor is one such issue. I understand the cable to the wiper motor, and the vacuum hose FROM the wiper motor. BUT where does the vacuum hose tie in? Somewhere on the engine? Approximate location?

No clue here where the hose from wiper motor attaches to motor.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks a bunch gents.

If your car still has the mechanical fuel pump. the vacuum hose will run there. That is actually two pumps with one of them being a vacuum pump to run the wipers. That was your wipers don't stop when your vacuum drops off.

Appreciate the quick response. Thanks a bunch. I will need to look, the fuel pump may have been replaced. She's at the shop right now for a transmission issue, otherwise I'd run out there and take a peek.

IF the fuel pump has been replaced with a more modern pump, am I screwed?

This is the first thing I'm gonna try to do when I get her back. Can't let the mechanic have ALL the fun.

I have an electric fuel pump on my 54 so my wipers are plugged directly into the intake manifold vacuum. Of course I never get it out in the rain. If I were going to use them very much I would convert to electric. Your fuel pump may be fine. You will just have to wait and see.
