1955 Power Window Motors

Anyone ever rebuild one of these? I know Fusick has them, but at ~$200 a pop, that's a lot of cash. They work, but are just slow and/or weak - there can't be anything to them...some grease - brushes - ??? Any thoughts??

In '67, when Cadillac came out with curved side glass, we were having problem w/window motors getting wet, and shorting-out. Warrantee replacements had a drain -hole, and were 'dipped' in rubber.[?]
Parts manager used to take the old ones home and rebuild them, so I know it can be done! Couldn't get replacements fast enough!
Take one apart, and clean/regrease it, maybe brushes too, but I don't know where you'd get parts.

sort of my thoughts too - there's an armature shop in Providence, not far from me - thought I'd hit them up for brushes possibly once I got the unit apart - parts must be out there - anyone have any leads or suggestions where I could find brushes for these?

thanks for your posts
