Caliper Brackets and Splash Shields

I am considering sending these parts away to Steve Gregori for replating, however, with the shipping charges involved out and back to the east coast, is it really a much better option than just buying the repros from Inline Tube? Fit and finish OK with the repros? Thanks.

Gregori does great work. The cores you send him have to be near perfect otherwise every little pit will be seen after plating

The repros are much thinner. A buddy of mine got some (this was about 10 years ago, so perhaps they've changed) and when he went to torque the upper bolt down he tore the metal disc brake dust shield. Talk about cheaper metal.
