Tachometer

Im wanting to purchase a Sunpro Analog Retro Tachometer FZ88R.Im going to mount it right behind my steering wheel. It has a 3 3/8 face. My question is that it does not come with wiring. What gauge will I need to wire it up?

Power, Ground, and Tac signal wire. No gauge needed to read your new gauge? Now if you mean what gauge wire... You can use just about anything you have laying around, the power drawn from a tac is minimal.

There is likely a fourth wire for internal illumination, also. This would connect to the instrument lights wiring behind the dash. I've usually tapped into the illumination wire for the radio for this one.

Also note that the tach feed wire from the coil can cause interference with the radio if you run the wire too close to the antenna feed. On factory tach cars, Olds actually used a shielded wire to prevent this, but I've never found the need for it myself. I just take care to run the tach feed as far from the audio system as possible - unless you want an "audio tachometer."

OK then 16ga wire should work.I have a MSD ignition box and where the Tack signal output on the side is, I already have a plug going into it from my FAST Fuel system. So I guess I will need to get a splitter then too. Thanks for your help once again guys

I just installed some gauges on my dads car and I just tapped into the fuse box for the gauge power and instrument light
