Heater box rehab

72 Cutlass tore into the heater box over the weekend. Pretty sure it's the first light of day since 72.
Anyone know the sealer being used between halves also will need a new gasket for the AC coil but that shouldn't be a problem. The sealer has to be better now than this crumbling wax stuff.
Also is there a spray on splatter paint I can use on the outside fiberglass itself ?
Since it was in such bad shape steel wool & a Dremel buffer was the only way to bring it back now it's a little dull. Tried a detailer looks ok but I would rather paint it I'm **** like that.

I lightly sanded mine with 1000 grit and then put a coat of low luster clear. I used the black strip calk for the firewall seal.

Lady72nRob71 posted a really good detailed description of what he did for his 72 heater core replacement.

If it's original, the heater core will have the year stamped into the end tank where the hoses connect...

in my opinion, painting the housing makes it kind of tacky looking. I bead blast and clearing coat all the units I restore.

That's why I ask you guys clear it is. Also don't see a year stamp only the Harrison stickers 1 on the outside of the box and a diff # sticker on the A coil.
