Well, I guess they can "chrome" anything now
Distributor cap, no worries
I wonder if they can chrome a red one?
COOL, I say!

I'm not familiar with this particular coating but in the past coatings like this were quite soft and not durable at all. Most of the uses were for static items that did not get handled or abused (the toilet seat has me wondering though), anyone have any personal experience with this or something like it? ...Tedd
Its actually a silvering process, the same as mirrors are done. Its real silver sprayed on a base coat, then clear coated. It looks pretty cool. Aluminum vacumizing is how plastic was done on our cars plastic parts. Not sure if they still use the aluminum process or not. Ive been looking into getting a small set up for this silvering process and trying it. Plastic dashes, arm rest bases, anything plastic that was "chromed" was the aluminum process. This silvering can be sprayed on anything. It wont be as durable as chrome so i probably wouldnt do bumpers. But small parts it may be nice. It can be tinted any color to give it a candy color appearance. Clearcoat it with a good 2K clear and its as durable as any paint job. It will scratch and chip im sure, but it may be a cheaper alternative to chrome in some cases.
