Broken front seat mount stud

Broken front seat mount stud

Hey guys...I was having a great day yesterday as I installed new sound deadening and new carpet in my '65 Cutlass Holiday. The sound deadening and carpet are both from ACC and the fit and finish were great. Everything went smoothly until I got to the last nut on the front passenger seat. As I was tightening the nut onto the stud, the stud snapped off! It must have been weakened up because I had done the other ones with no problems.


How do you suggest I go about fixing this? Do I have to drill out what's left of the stud and replace it with grade 8 bolt, nut & washers?


Thanks guys and any help with this is appreciated as I'm feeling a little crappy about this.

Or you can drill a new hole into the seat frame and through the floor, fabricate a small doubler plate and use a bolt and nut.
