70 GM Fuel Tanks - Cutlass, Chevelle GTO

Are the fuel tanks and the sending unit for a w/o fuel line return system, used in the 70 Chevelle, 70 Pontiac GTO/Tempest, 70 Buick Skylark the same tanks used in the 70 Cutlass tank.? I have a large parts restoration supplier in my area that sells them for Most GM makes, but of course they do not sell Cutlass parts. If the 70 GM tanks are the same, I can just pick one up from them.

thanks

Far as I know.

Is there something special about their tanks? Because many users here have used Spectra tanks from RockAuto or the local auto parts store for something like $150, if I recall (those who have bought them can correct me).

One issue with swapping a 70 Cutlass fuel tank with a 70 Chevelle fuel tank is the length and indexing of the filler tube. The tank is the same but filler tube design keeps it from being an interchange.

Seems most of the new tanks are 17 gallon not the 20 gallon they should be. So if you pick up a 17 gallon tank, will the factory straps still work or do you need straps for a these 17 gallon tanks. ( I am assuming the tank width is different)

Has anyone purchased one of the 20 gallon tanks from the supplier mentioned above, how are they?

thanks

Amazon sells the Spectra tanks. If you have Prime, it's a great deal with the free shipping.
