In Need of a Second Opinion

I'm buying a car alarm and am looking to make a decision within the week. I would like a second opinion so if anyone will look at the car alarm i'm thinking of buying I would greatly appreciate it. Here's the link:

Thanx in advance!

Car alarms are a waste of money. Do you know anyone who has ever called the police to report a theft in progress when they heard a car alarm? Didn't think so.

Buy a flashing LED and a window sticker if you really think it will help. Spend the money on a well-hidden kill switch.

I agree completely.
Kill switches stop theives. But if they really want you're car they'll tow it. Only way to solve that is a 12 gauge (or equivelant).

If you have the extra money and time I would put a kill switch and an alarm in the car.

Has anyone had any experience with the Ravelco antitheft device?

Is it anything other than an expensive kill switch? Frankly, a well hidden kill switch and a hood lock is probably more effective than anything else. If the device is visible, the thief knows where to start to defeat it.

Actually, the best (and least expensive) system I've ever seen is a slow-blow fuse in the wire to the points. A toggle switch shorts around the fuse when closed. The theory is that the fuse allows the thief to start the car, but it then dies and he cannot restart it. He then assumes that the car just runs poorly and moves on.

Whatever you put on your car just make sure you don't drive it someplace you wouldn't take your grandma. That is always good advice.
