Not on purpose. I was not even looking. Friday we got a 99 Sillouette traded in. Had badly warped rotors that would shake you off the road when you hit the brakes and a light main seal leak so they were going to send to wholesale. On a whim I called the salesmanager to see what we have in it. Once a year I can buy a car for a few $$ over what we have in it.
Long story short its a very clean one elderly owner 95K mile van. Tires are less than a month old. After I bought a set of rotors and paid TTL I have $2900.00 in it :P Put the rotors on today and it stops like a dream. I thought the wife might take a little getting used to but she hopped right in and liked it. The daugher already likes playing with the sliding door button.
This will save me money in several areas. I can now drop full coverage insureance, gets about 5MPG better gas, and sell our Tahoe worth about 8500.00 I might get to build my 455 sooner than I thought.

 

Nice, I almost bought an 02, same color, 3 weeks ago.

Baby on the way, Alero too small, Delta too unsafe (according to the wife) but 4 cars in the family, couldn't afford it, not so much the money part, but the parking part

I don't know much about the newer Oldsmobiles. Is the minivan you bought the silver one, or the smaller red one with a yellow top?

Unfortunately most of the little old men I see are guys like me. And I won't give up my Oldsmobiles. Good on ya for scooping it up.
Agree on selling the Tahoe. Be curious to see what you get for it. Big difference between what you want and what you might have to take with today's gas prices!!

 

The number I gave should be pretty realistic based on todays market. It would have brought 10,500-11,000 6months ago. I can send it to wholesale auction today and it will bring 6,500 so if I sell to an individual 8500.00 will be close. Its much nicer than 95% of cars that go to auction. We own the title so if I have to sit on it a little while thats OK
