Coil on manifold

The coil on my 56 super 88 is mounted on intake manifold just behind the carb. In another post I read somewhere on here suggested moving it away from there would keep it from getting hot. I believe the post had to do with stop and go restarts. Is this something I should do to prevent future damage.

Coiled up copper doesen't like excessive heat. That's why modern cars have these items mounted onto the firewall

Modern cars have spark plug mounted coil packs. Moving it to the firewall would keep it a bit cooler, but it won't make that much difference.
