Coil Advice

I need some advice from the experts on coils. Back when I was driving Chevy IROC-Z's, the first thing to do was put in K & N air filters, and an Accell Supercoil. (Splitfire plugs were also "the" plug to use, but we won't go there) I still like K & N, but was wondering if the Supercoil was really worth anything in a non-computer fuel injected car? I know I won't pick up any real horsepower, but will it help the engine run smoother, or more efficiantly, or anything? Also, if the coil replacement does help, is the Moroso coil better than the Accell, or are they about the same, other than a $20.00 difference in price. Also, anyone have a suggestion on plugs? The engine is a '75 Oldsmobile 350- 4 barrel with 64,000 miles. All stock right now.

Thanks,

John

I don't think you would benefit from changing your coil, as you said your car doesn't have HEI and runs on points anyway. I would use stock parts if it was my car.

Slight mistake here.

The '75's DO have HEI from the factory. It does not have a computer. No points after '73. So, my question still stands, does the more powerfull aftermarket coil do anything usefull for the car?

Same as with your Chevs. Nothing.

Although, like the K & N filter, it could make your engine compartment look prettier.
