buying tyres onlinefrom australia- best options

Hi Folks

Had a serious flat the other day and going to replace the current tyres on the car after having the rims polished.

My question for the CO brains trust is 1) which websites do you find are useful for online purchasing, as i'm from perth western australia
and 2) would you from your experience suggest any alternatives to what tyres i am using at the moment (ie better durability/grip etc).

At the moment i have fitted at the front; Roadstone dark horse ii-60 235/60r14 96h and on the rear; Road hugger radial gt M+s p235/60r14 96s.
I like the classic style with the white printed letters they have at the mome
This the rubber thats been on the car since i purchased it coming up to 4 years ago.

I've attached a photo of the current wheels the car has had, the rear guard has been fixed since the photo.

Thanking you in advance

Russ

IMO those tires are too short for a Cutlass. I think they look better with a 225/70. unfortunately, 14" tires are a dying breed. Tirerack.com lists one option, BFG Radial TA.
They are a reputable seller but IDK what it will cost to ship.

Tire Rack is about the only online place that I know of and would trust.

As for tire size, 225-70 or 245-60 would be my recommendations.

I agree not many choices for 14"wheels anymore. I don't like to buy tires online because if there is any issues it's a pain to correct. Is there not any tire stores you can get tires in country?

thanks for your advice guys. i might give tire rack a try. Living here i'm used to getting bent over on shipping so thats not a huge issue hahaha.

to get something like this is even harder in australia- there is a vintage tyre website but the prices are really horrific- they're preying on the cashed up classic owner who doesn't look around for prices. the price for four BFG radial TA you put up (given without shipping) is less than half what you'd buy it for here.

folks that option will work ok with the wheels i've got?

My car has had 245-60-14 BFG Radial TAs on 14x7 SSII wheels since the early 90s with no issues.
