SX identification

How do you know if a Cutlass is a SX? Is it in the Vin number or cowl tag?

Keith, everything you ever wanted to know about the SX:
(No, not in the VIN or cowl tag)

Did you happen to locate a blue 71 convertible SX? I sold one that went to Indy and I never heard from them or seen the car again. I had hoped I would see something of the car after he bought it.

No I didn't. I'll start looking lol. The car I'm referring to is a 70 convertible thats blue a friend of mine owns. He bought it from an insurance auction for what seemed to be a lot considering the condition. He had it at a shop being worked on and the guy offered him $10,000 for it. At the price he could have bought a much nicer car.The guy seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. It was in ruff shape at the time. It made him hesitant to sell. He asked me what I though. I checked the Vin and it's not a 442, so I thought it might be an SX. He doesn't know much about them and I only know how to check to see if it's a 442. But from what I read in the article it seems to be a SX. I will go look at the car again when the snow clears.

Eric, how long ago did you sell the SX, do you know what part of Indianapolis? I also came across a guy that bought a 71 442 convertible from you. You seem to come across some nice ones.

lol, I sold the SX about a month before the 71 442. Those two cars were part of the barn full I bought in april of 2012. All 3 cars i sold so far from that barn went to Indy and that is where the 3 cars lived before being parked in a barn in the 80/early 90s.

Do you know who bought the '71 in Indy? I bought a '71 cutlass convertible out of Indy this past April.

I don't know what his name was. it was a real SX with the SX still on the fenders. This is the one I sold.
