I was sitting back with my kids yesterday evening and watching "A Christmas Story" on the tv. I'd never paid attention before that in the begining of the story, when his father comes inside cussing because the car has frozen up again, that the nararator calls his father a lifelong "Oldsmobile Man". oops

Anyone else out there ever have problems with their '40s olds' freezing up in the winter?

 

I can tell you that my dear departed dad used to add kerosene to the motor oil in our 1948 Futuramic when the temps got frigid.

 

Those temps would have to have been REALLY low (like 0 or below). Where did you grow up...Juno, Alaska?
