Pat,

I never changed the pulleys that were on the engine when I got it. Just freshen everything up a bit. I may have to remove the water pump pulley and measure it, but it seem to be aligned with the crank pulley.

Okay, here goes.

It's impossible for us to judge what is wrong based on those pictures.
You will have to judge because you are the only one who can see the brackets and pulleys in person, and move around them to get a good perspective.

Here are 26 pictures of 2 different engines with your bracket setup on them.
The rusty engine is factory original, the shiny engine is not, but is easier to see clearly.

You will need to look at these pictures and judge for yourself.

Interesting. You can only post a maximum of 20 images in a single post.

Thanks Eric,

I have the brackets on the painted engine. All the spacers are in place as well as the brackets. The alternator pulley is sitting about a half inch off line. Thanks for the pictures

I've just spent a fair amount of time scrutinizing your pictures, and I've got to say that, with the information I have access to here, I'm fairly stumped.
