That's cool. They didn't build a Cutlass and put a SBC in it? I'm surprised.

Apparently you're not a reader of the publication.

I don't read MCR, Hot Rod, or any of the other popular car magazines. I used to subscribe to Car Craft and Hot Rod. I got tired of reading about junkyard build ups, Chevy vs. Ford vs. MOPAR dyno tests, and classic cars of various makes with a SBC engine and 700R4 transmission.

To each his own though.

If you don't read it, why do you assume what they install in a Cutlass?

Why not go to the store, pick up the magazine, and relax and enjoy?

I've been a subscriber since 1987 (except for the few years they shut down). GREAT magazine especially for people like me who prefer correctly restored cars. MCR and Hemmings Muscle Machines are my two favorites that I read cover-to-cover.

Mine should arrive today - can't wait. I've been looking forward to an Olds centric issue for quite awhile!

There are several neat cars in this issue and the Feb.2012 is also packed with Oldsmobiles.

I've always liked MCR & it's a PIA to find in stores. I just went on-line to their website to try and find what stores might carry them. You have two options:

SUBSCRIBE

or

EMAIL US

http://www.musclecarreview.com/

So.......for $24.99 I have a two year digital subscription.... (a savings of about $4 over the hard copy)

....Now if only OCA could figure out that people like me would do this they'd be a lot more successful.

X2 I read both cover to cover. I try to sip on each like a fine wine.

Worth the Read.

I always take things a little too far , and this is a good issue for ANY Old's
fan . Anytime you have a Boss 429 Stang period rodded ( by a guy that owns several ) , and a 1 of 3 unrestored 428 Cobra Jet Cougar GTE as warm up acts for Pure Old's stuff , It has to be good. Tweed's W-31 found ,
original owner Cutlass S , 1970 442 W-30 Convert all great stuff .
The car that knocked me out was the Ultra rare aluminum Axel "70 W-30 ,
442 Ragtop FOUND in Maine . Written by none other than Steve Magnante.

I have been around Steve for several pre TV walk arounds for Barrett - Jackson in Scottsdale . My responsibilities were standing with vehicles and
supporting owners that just wanted me there. My 3- 4 walk arounds did not impress me , but hey , this guy was really busy...
Steve's explanation of a 1970 W-30 with W-27 was spot on . I have tried to have owners / restorers explain this to me previously utilizing their own vehicles , never did I get this much info. in an article . Then , what a beautiful " FIND ". Color change , big rust , dents , BUT ,3 simple pictures of REAL center section/cover , Real posi - tag , real plug welds and date stamps . So this is what the real stuff should look like...
Good Stuff.
