Chivy horses must be teensy if they get 425 of 'em out of a 355 engine w/o a turbo or blower.

There's no way, right? More like, "I *reckon* it's *about* 425 HP..." instead of, "here's the dyno sheet with 425 HP shown."

 

His "butt dyno" is probably highly calibrated.

 

A lot of times these horsepower stories are like fishing stories...amazingly a 6lb schoolie striped bass grew into a 40 inch keeper...

 

If it has a half way decent set of heads 425HP is a cake walk with a sbc. Not saying is does or doesn't but don't think its not done every day. My old mild 383 made 460hp and it was unported 2.05 valve Iron Eagles strait out of the box.

 

i have a 355 with sr heads 6"rod 13:1,eddy performer stock out of the box, 500 cfm holley 2 bbl dynoed,(pierce race engines) at 419hp@6100 and 410 lbft @4900 i think i can squeeze a lot more with different heads,intake and a 4bbl.

 

Sounds like someone is running a dirt car.

 

pavement not racing anymore too many arm surgeries. still have the car and motor tho.
