Simple 68 Cutlass??? (I hope!!)

Hey guys I have a simple question for ya.... I have been re-doin the interior of my 68 cutlass s, it supposed to be a easy stereo and speaker job that turned into quite the project!!! But I am planning on putting kids in the car and need rear seat belts, did the 68 come with factory rear belts???? I have not removed the rear seat yet to check, but did feel round and didnt feel anything. If not are there provisions for belts (plates??) or just use aftermarket ones with the big washers???
Thanks for the help!!

Yes, rear seat bets were mandated on all 1968 cars.

Your car has three.

They are under the rear seat cushion, unless a former owner was particularly meticulous and removed them entirely and threw them away.

You may forget that, with extremely rare exceptions, nobody used seat belts in 1968, not the fronts, and certainly not the rears.
They were traditionally bundled up and stuffed under the rear seat cushions, where they would be out of the way, and wouldn't get under people's butts or look messy.

Unless you're the idiot prior owner of my '67 Delta who wasn't satisfied with simply stuffing them into the seat out of the way but actually snipped them off at the anchor point. I had to get an air-powered ratchet to loosen the seat belt bolts in order to put new ones in.

Nope. I was one of the stupid lunatics who actually wore his seatbelts,
even though they could trap you in a burning car and kill you.
