I bought a whole bunch of Olds 324 engine parts today,I am not selling them.Including a couple complete 1954 324s also and I got lucky,I put a breaker bar with socket on them,turned over with no problems.It was at an auction and I was bidding on them against a scrapper wanting to buy them sending them in for scrap metal.I knew this was not going to happen.Paid $500.00 for both complete engines and $400.00 for the engine parts sold as a lot.Mostly intake and exhaust manifolds,valve covers,oil pans and engine blocks.I did check the casting numbers on the engine blocks,all 3 engine blocks are 1958 engine blocks.

 

Congrats on finding treasure! Also, I'm glad you saved it all from the melting pot! This stuff is going away too fast as the scrap metal prices are so high. If you've got room to stash it away its always nice to have spare parts! For those that have visited my place, they know I really believe in having spare parts

Nice haul ! Two 324s, and three 371s with assorted parts . Some day, I hope all the engines find their way into restored cars !

 

I have plans for one of the complete 324s,I am going to build a V8 barstool building up the 324.I have a big back room for my parts and that is they are now.I have them seperate from my Chevrolet parts so I don't get them mixed up.The blocks are 371s.One exhaust manifold is going on my 324 in my 1956 Olds 98,driver's side exhaust manifold is cracked in one spot.Broke when I took it off,I seen someone tried to weld it back together.Came from a dead man's estate,the man died of a fatal heart attack last month.I saw that stuff and I knew I wanted it all no matter the price.I bought the old Kent Moore specialty tools for the 324 also,whole lot for $30.00 and were in the original boxes.There was a mint 1965 Olds Delta 88 not in the auction,I put an offer on it and it is going to special for someone in my life,my mother.She wants a 1965 Olds Delta 88 and her birthday is in December.I had my father come over and see it,he would pay half and I will pay half.The widow and her daughter will call me on Monday
