New or Refurb Magnum 500 SS1 Wheels

I have a set of 14" Magnum 500 SS1 wheels that were purchased new in 1967 with my 442. I have found a company to refurb each for $180. I can buy new 15" SS1s for about $150 ea. Do I go new to give me the ability to upgrade to front disc brakes or to I keep as much original as I can?

IMO...Depends on what your trying to achieve and how original you want it to look? Are you showing/judging? If not I say go with 15" new. Tire choices are better. Put the originals in a box and save.
I’m currently running 235/70R14s that need replacing. Having a hard time finding that size. I’d rather not go down to 225/14s. 15s will fill the wheel wells out better as well.

I used a company in Cali to re-hoop my 14" SS1 wheels to 15".

They came out great.

Rally America is the company.

The original GM centers are way better than the repro centers.
