Having problems keeping the car running. Tried setting the carb at 1 1/2 turns out and it won't stay running for more than 20 seconds or so unless I keep pumping the pedal. Carb was recently rebuilt. Tried screwing around with the choke but no difference.

How do I troubleshoot this - could it be the fuel pump?

Car is a 62 full size w/ 4GC carb (stock).

 

initial set point is 3 1/2 turns out from LIGHTLY SEATED.

Ahh. The guy who rebuild the carb had it turned out about 1/2 a turn. I'll give that a try.
