1967 Delmont 88 Custom Project Progress

Attached is a picture of my Delmont 88 custom project. So far:

1. Stripped the paint, de-rusted (Rust-B-Gone, grinding, etc., etc.) and primed the body, trunk lid and fenders.
2. Patched the floor and coated with rust-preventive paint.
3. Removed the windshield and back window, repaired any rusted areas, and replaced the windows (after cutting in those areas with Corvette red base coat / clear coat.
4. Patched the cowl area (all patches are metal) and cut in with the aforementioned paint.
5. Shaved the exterior door handles and trunk lock.
6. De-rusted the hood--this part really sucked....

Planned soon or in process:
1. Narrow the rear bumper and weld it into the body. It will be like an Oldsmobile Judge--just a little bigger.
2. Finish the hood--including a Z-28 cowl induction scoop.
3. Figure out what to do to similarly customize the front bumper and grill area.
4. Assemble the interior--will probably be a half baked job for this year and refined next spring. I plan on driving this late summer.
5. Finish the 455 short block and then use the C-heads from the 425.
6. Fit a pair of Sanderson shorty headers--rip, sh*t, bust and/or modify the frame as necessary.
7. The usual finish stuff.
