Value of a 1969 442 Convertible

Hi,

I'm looking for opinions on what my car might be worth. I don't have the time to work on it so I plan to sell it this summer. I'd like someone to restore it and enjoy it rather than just let it sit and rust away. Any and ALL opinions of its value are welcome. Here is some information about the car:

I have owned this car for 36 years. I bought it in high school. It has sat for approximately the last 12 years and needs a restoration. It is a pretty solid car though and could be a nice restoration project.
Pictures can be seen at www.photobucket.com/1969Olds442

Exterior:
· Currently painted 1976 Corvette blue, original color is 1969 Oldsmobile Code 51 - Trophy Blue
· It retains all original body panels and all are in excellent condition. There is some minimal rust on the doors and trunk lid
· The hood is a fiberglass W-25 hood, I do have the original hood
· All stainless steel trim is original and in excellent condition. Only missing trim is the trim around the front of the hood
· The bumpers are in excellent condition. They were replaced in 1980s and have no rust on them
· The roof needs to be completely replaced. The last time the car was run the convertible top pump worked fine
· All glass is original to the car.
· Front grills were replaced in 1980s and are in excellent condition
· Taillights have some pitting and one has a cracked lense

Interior:
· Seats are non-original and need to reupholstered
· Dash is in excellent condition, no cracks
· Original steering wheel, no cracks
· Door panels are OK, some warpage
· Carpets are replacements and probably need to be replaced again
· Rear seat is original
· There is no center console – the shifter is a B&M Quicksilver shifter
· The gauges work – speedometer is off due to a rearend gear ratio change
· Trunk is OK, minimal rust
· The last time this car was run all electrical components worked (headlights, dash lights, directionals, wipers, etc.)
· There has been some damage due to rodents

Drivetrain:
· The drivetrain is NON original (engine, transmission, rearend)
o Engine is a 350 4 bbl
o Transmission is a 350 automatic with a shift kit installed
o Rearend is a Chevy posi with 4:11 gears
· Engine needs work, transmission and rearend are fine
· Car was originally a 4 speed. Have all the linkage parts to convert it back to a 4 speed (bellhousing, flywheel, linkage, Z bar, clutch and brake pedals), sorry no 4 speed tranny though
· Radiator was fine when the car was last started (approx. 5 years ago)

Chassis:
· Frame has some rust but I don’t believe it’s rusted through in any areas
· Front end was completely rebuilt approximately 15 years ago (new bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm, sway bar bushings, springs may have been replaced, etc.)
· Rear bushings and springs were replaced approx. 15 years ago
· Floor pans appear to be ok, some minor rust
· Has Rally II wheels I believe

Spare parts – this car is being sold with the following:
· 455 engine – disassembled but have most parts
· 400 engine – disassembled but have most parts
· Extra cylinder heads (C and E)
· 1966 Olds L-69 Tri-power. Carburetors need to be rebuilt. Have all linkage parts
· 2 spare doors
· Spare trunk lid
· Original hood
· Original bumpers (not in the best of condition)
· Various other engine parts

Thanks for any feedback - Matt

I'm with Rich. That tri-power is worth some bucks
by itself. Is the 400 you have original to the car?

Thanks guys - I appreciate the feedback on the value.

I actually bought the 400 engine in 1980 with the tri-power on it for $100. The guy said it ran but I never did get it put in the car. I doubt that the 400 is original to the car although I did buy them in the same city.

Yes, I have the car advertised for $7,800 for everything (except the L69 Tri-carb).
