I just installed the Lokar LS1 part. Very easy install, the 'nut' at the bottom has to be ground so it will fit the flat on the block, shorten the braided tube 2". I fabbed a ss bracket like the one supplied, but longer to fasten the top to a header bolt.

Thanks dc2x4.. I'm going to see if I can get a hold of one today if not ill have to order one online I just hate having to pay shipping charges and waiting for it
How do you go about shortening the braided tube...does it come apart pretty easily to just take the 2'' out and reassemble? why are you taking 2'' out anyway? how bout the dipstick itself...shorten that to or no? Sorry to bombard you with all the questions but I have to go thru this w/ my Frankenstein project myself.

If I recall, shorten the top of the braided line, pretty simple, that's it, the dipstick isn't modified..
I have a modified unit for sale..
Can anyone tell me whether not I can remove any material from the block itself to get this Lokar in place? The fittings are aluminum and very thin. I am afraid I will damage the tube I just bought before it will go in.
Don't remove material from a stock part to fit some aftermarket part of questionable accuracy; remove material from the aftermarket part instead. Might need a different dipstick, like stock.
Also, make a new thread over bumping a 7 year old one. Thanks.

Damn I wish I found this a week ago. I've been trying all day unsuccessfully to modify a stock dipstick to work with American Racing headers. Looks like I'm running to Summit tonight.
